Description
This workshop provides a comprehensive view for measuring
and improving Research and Development (R&D) performance. These
proven methods take into account a broad range of factors that affect
the R&D / product development functions, and participants explore, in depth,
details related to the most relevant performance indicators
and metrics. The primary objective of this workshop is to
ensure participants can apply the right R&D performance measurement systems, and
then take
actions to improve results.
On day one, we focus on traditional measurement methods and answer the question
"How can I determine the right metrics for my organization?" Also as part
of day one, we discuss how to implement Key
Performance Indicators (KPIs) effectively using a
balanced scorecard / dashboard approach. On day two, we explore the specific challenges in today’s R&D / product development environments
as well as the
relationships between R&D performance and the human factors that are essential to
improving productivity.
Participants read and discuss case studies, engage in team exercises, and
participate in facilitated real-world problem-solving – all of which equip
R&D leaders to immediately measure and improve performance when they return to
their offices.
