Overview

Participation in a Project Management for Engineers session teaches the fundamentals of project management that are relevant to the needs of most technical project leaders. A key objective of the workshop is to provide an approach to technical project planning that enables project teams to put together realistic, comprehensive plans quickly.

Traditional, iterative, and hybrid project lifecycle models are presented, with exercises that show how to plan projects for successful outcomes using best-practices that will fit within most existing product development processes. A Technical Project Plan Template is provided, which is useful for companies that don’t use a template; and for those that do use a template it can be used to enhance your technical project plans.

The case studies and examples used in the Project Management for Engineers sessions are drawn from a broad range of product development team environments at small, medium, and large companies serving many industries. You will also benefit from the workshop leader’s direct experience contributing to successful engineering projects for over 25 years.

Cancellations and substitutions
Payment is required in advance but is refundable, less a $50 processing fee, if your cancellation is received 5 full business days before the workshop. If you fail to attend and do not notify us in advance, the fee is not refunded. Substitutes are welcome. Simply send the substitute on the day of the workshop and notify the workshop leader of the change on arrival.

In-Person Workshops
We begin at 9:00 a.m. sharp and wrap up at about 5:15 p.m. Check-in begins at 8:30 AM. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Lunch is from approximately 12:30 to 1:30 PM. Dress is casual. Materials are provided at the workshop.

Online Seminars
We begin at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time and wrap up at about 5:00 p.m. There is a 30-minute break from 3:00 to 3:30. Materials and pre-work are emailed in advance. Approximately 3.5 hours of self-paced work is needed to complete the pre-work, post-work and development plan.
